Beyga saw his window opening, and was ready to take it. It might not be honorable in the traditional Saiyan way, but sometimes a dishonorable deed was necessary to better the world. And what was more honorable than making the world a better place? The half-breed abomination’s death would serve to elevate the Saiyan race in ways they didn’t yet understand. These orders given by his King were crucial, necessary, and of utmost importance.
But before he could steady the weapon, a shot ran through his knee and caused him to stumble, barely catching himself as he levitated to hold himself up and keep his posture straight. He glared daggers at Lotren while biting down on the pain, refusing to show weakness. A Saiyan that might be useful for their cause, but he’d need to be broken. In the end, he was just another freak of unnatural blood that wasn’t worthy of calling himself a true Saiyan. But Beyga wouldn’t reveal that just yet, choosing instead to hold his cards close to his chest for when the time was right. He began to retreat inside of his ship, giving the orders to his men to join him as he makes his way to the med-bay to heal the injury.
Beyga: “We’re leaving in five minutes. Any who wishes to join us is free to do so.”
As he limped onto his ship’s bay door hatch, he turned to give one last look back to Sparga and glared at him with such hate and disdain that the air might freeze over.
Beyga: “This… Isn’t over, abomination.”
And then Beyga slithered away to lick his wounds, leaving the group to speak amongst themselves.
Sparga was still struggling to recall where he knew the name Turles from, but was still drawing blanks. Even more so, he was at a loss for why the name made the taste in his mouth turn sour. Was it some villain he had fought in the past? Probably, but the past five or so years as the current acting Superman had made for a career fighting so many villains and would-be conquerors that they had started blurring together. If Sparga had fought this Turles before, he was drawing a blank.
And then suddenly, a voice rang in his mind as Lotren established a telepathic link between the two. Quietly, he responded mentally while taking a split second to adjust to the development.
Sparga: “Never met a Saiyan who could do that. You’re full of surprises. If I remember anything, I’ll let you know”
Truthfully, Sparga wasn’t yet sure how comfortable he was with a stranger so easily slipping into his head like that. If he could do it, then who else could? And what could they do with what they find? Something he’d have to look into having protected. But that was a problem for tomorrow - right now, there was still a lot going on.
As Rutaba descended from the Super Saiyan state and admitted his desires to protect this world and all life in it, Sparga crossed his arms and listened to the exchange being had between everyone. It seemed like this was going better than he had anticipated so he chose instead to not participate in the conversation and simply observe the proceedings as Rutaba considered joining Lotren to train.
And then Mokaryu joined in and helped ease Rutaba’s anxiety and make him more comfortable. But when she flew back to him and addressed him, his brow furrowed. Crossing his arms over his chest as she offered her question, his tail twitched like a whip behind him. She wanted a straightforward answer? Well she was gonna get one.
Sparga: “You stabbed me in the shoulder half way before I could even finish saying hello. If your goal was to join my team, you probably shouldn’t have started knives out. Earning my trust isn’t gonna be easy. It’s doable, but you got a long road ahead of you.”
He wasn’t making it a secret he was apprehensive, given the scowl adoring his features. But if she was earnest, and genuine, then she deserved a chance. Miso, however, was a little more discerning as he spoke up.
Miso: “Whoa, Blue. C’mon, really? You’re really gonna give her a shot at the Justice League? She doesn’t even have a suit!”
Sparga: “Again, not our name. Not big enough for a League. We’re–”
Miso: “But Justice Gang sounds terrible, dude! Come on!”
Sparga: “Can we not do this here, in front of everyone? She deserves a chance to be a better person. To make better choices. Everyone deserves that chance.”
Sparga’s tone was stern and unflinching even as their argument ebbed and flowed in direction to stay on track. Miso shifted through a series of expressions as if internally going through a journey to settle on how he felt before finally landing on a thoughtful and inquisitive if apprehensive roll of his jaw, like he were chewing on everything they were considering before them right now. And then finally relented with a sigh and wave of his hands.
Finally, Sparga turned back to Mokaryu, and pointed at Rutaba.
Sparga: “Keep him out of trouble. Keep him safe. He might have all the fighting spirit of a Saiyan, but he’s still just a kid. Wherever you guys are going, bring him back here in one piece, and we can talk about you joining the team.”
